Guffey is a census-designated place and a U.S. Post Office located in Park County, Colorado, United States. The population as of the 2010 Census was 98. The Guffey Post Office has the ZIP Code 80820.Guffey has received publicity for electing animals as mayors of the town, although such an office does not officially exist. According to local folklore, the two main political parties in Guffey are called the "Democats" and the "Repuplicans". The last Mayor of Guffey was a cat named Monster.The town is perhaps less famous for its annual Fourth of July Fried Chicken Fly, during which whole cooked chickens were ejected from a mailbox atop a ten-foot-high platform; prizes were awarded for distance. The last year for the event was 2011. Pete Wentz is the reigning champion with his custom chicken flanger mailbox.
